You have checked out those great middle
school national test results that are posted in the back of church, haven’t
you? What great results can come about for students with a present and
past history of having competent, dedicated teachers -- students who are
blessed with supportive parents who have reasonable but high expectations and
students who have developed a strong work ethic coupled with a persevering
spirit.

Did you notice in the Catholic Herald
Citizen in January that twice they ran a middle page spread devoted to
results of a fall poster contest with the theme “Year for Priests: Thank
You, God, for Father!” We had four (!) winning entries: Sara
Lemminger in grade four, Erin Haeger in grade five, Trey Jahnke in grade six,
and Sara Hogan in grade eight. There were four winners for each grade but
given the 44 schools in the diocese, not too shabby!
