Happy National Catholic Schools
Week as of Sunday, the 31st.
The theme this year is “Catholic Schools – Dividends for Life:
FAITH, KNOWLEDGE, DISCIPLINE, MORALS!” How’s that for a great sermon, right
there? Please pass on the word.
Most of our students look forward
to this week because they know it will bring some special (and often fun)
activities. Mr. Rick Krueger of
Premier Martial Arts of Watertown promises to deliver a message that will
strengthen the students’ self-esteem and self confidence on Monday morning.
Principals and teachers around Wisconsin have sung Rich Rubietta’s praises, the
presenter Thursday afternoon at St. Bernard’s of a joint music assembly that
“introduces students to a way of prayer and worship that joyfully engages the
whole person from head to toe!” By the
way, please be sure that your children will be dressed appropriately for the
walk there and back that day. Also,
you will find the permission slip with information about the fun
afternoon on Friday at Skate Express in this envelope. See what I mean about special and fun
activities?
Of course, you could see from
last week’s flyer that Thursday evening is a not-to-be-missed parents’ event.
You remember, from your service hours’ slip, that some HASA activities can
be counted in on your service hours’ total.
Coming to hear Andy Meier Thursday night certainly may be listed. And attending a free, delicious supper before
– what a deal for sure!
Please, if you have a child who
will be new to St. Henry next year, be sure to call and ask for a
registration slip and get it returned on or before Friday the 5th. Those with children in school already are
given top priority for attendance in any open classes next year if the
registrations are received before the Sunday after Catholic Schools Week. After that day, all registrations are
received on a first-come, first served basis.
Of course, if you have friends considering enrolling children for next
year, earlier is safer than later. Next
year’s 4K class registrations will be at the public school office on the corner
of Dodge and First Street next week Monday through Wednesday, February 1-3. Because we are in partnership with them, the
only cost is a $20.00 fee for the year! Those who get that done next week and
choose St. Henry as their site of preference certainly have the best chances of
having their little ones here with us next year. They will then begin their school experience
at St. Henry “Soaring with the Lord” as thousands have done before them since
1854!
