The Lord is my light and my
salvation; whom should I fear?
The Lord is my life’s refuge; of whom
should I be afraid? Psalm
27: 1
My goodness, talk about needing to remind
ourselves of the saying, “The ability to adjust is a sign of maturity.” Our A
League basketball tournament plans, good as the originals were, had to really
be adjusted thanks to Mother Nature last Monday night and the upcoming
Packers-Bears game on Sunday (no refs available!) A HUGE thank you to all of you who have
already put in lots of helping hours, and those of you who plan to contribute
more Thursday and Friday evening and on Saturday. Could I ask that if and when you are present
and sense any behavior that is a little over the line as visitors and athletes
mill around when not playing, please gently, courteously but firmly speak
up. Also, we will be opening up the
downstairs cafeteria on Saturday, but no one should be wandering around the
school section of the building so feel free to speak up if you notice anyone
starting to “explore.” Thank you. Thank
you. And, “Go, Hawks!” Mostly, everyone, have a great time.
By the way, parking may be a problem
Saturday afternoon. If there is a way
you can park off the lot if you know you will be here during the 4:00 Mass
time, that would be very much appreciated.
If you want to spread the warning about the potential parking problem
during that Mass time, would you please?
Obviously, people can avoid that problem by coming to one of the two
morning Masses on Sunday or going to St. Bernard’s 5:30 pm Mass on
Saturday. Bless ye.
You will find the “official”
RE-registration form in your packet today.
It should make sense when you read through it. Would you please return that on Monday. The only folks who we don’t need it from are
those whose youngest child is now graduating from our eighth grade. (That’s always a combination of exciting and
a little sad.)
Some Catholic Schools Week things will be
in there too. Would you like to come
skating with your child on Thursday?
Stay for lunch that day? Come
back for our annual Parents Night Out
with its free, delicious chili or chicken soup supper with homemade rolls and
dessert – all prepared by our own kitchen ladies. HASA, at their re-scheduled meeting Monday
night is deciding on whether inviting you all afterwards for either fun games –
a chance to socialize and laugh with other parents and faculty or having a
speaker. Come to the meeting and help
decide on that (and other things you saw on the agenda that went home last
week) or see what the decision was in next Friday’s newsletter – or by the
grapevine! Sign up slip for Parents
Night Out will come home next week.
Permission slip, etc. for skating event
included this week.

Memory Verse for January
24-28
“It is due to Him (God) that
you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, as well as
righteousness, sanctification,
and redemption, so that, as it is written,
‘Whoever boasts, should boast in the Lord.’” St. Paul in I Corinthians 1: 31
