“We believe in
. . . One, Holy, CATHOLIC, and
Apostolic Church.”
Nicene Creed
As I write this, it’s snowing. How unusual, heh? It’s certainly beautiful, we’ll give God
that. Time is short so let me just briefly
mention a few things. Because of a
funeral today, we had to reschedule the National Geography Bee assembly for
this afternoon to same time, same station next Friday. (See calendar.) Although I was gone to a workshop Tuesday, I
understand the Yo-Yo assembly with Mr. Ned was truly entertaining and
inspirational. Yo-yo’s may be purchased in the office through Tuesday afternoon
and then the secretary’s store will be closed for yo-yo purchases for the next
couple of years! In today’s packet you
will find an important sheet from the bi-annual St. Henry Auction
Committee. We truly encourage every
school family to try and participate in some way. It’s a great event, and volunteers work
countless hours to make this FUN time and wonderful fund-raiser happen. Ticket information will be in next week’s
envelope.
Lauren and Michelle Zelinski,
young ladies from our parish who attended the 2008 World Youth Day with Pope
Benedict XVI in Sydney, Australia this past summer, shared highlights of their
adventure with the sixth, seventh, and eighth graders and a couple of the
younger children’s classes on Wednesday afternoon. What an experience! They were moved so often to be among hundreds
of thousands of young Catholics from all over the world. It really marked their souls with the
universality and unity – Catholicity – of this great Church of ours. The next WORLD youth day will be in Spain in
2011. Young people from 16 to 35 are welcome. May some of our graduates be able to have
this life-changing opportunity. And
many thanks to Lauren and Michelle for taking the time to be with us.
