Robert Polzin

1866 - 1943

 

Robert Polzin, well known resident of Watertown and former cigarmaker here, died at his home, 1100 South Tenth Street, early today, after a lingering illness which followed a stroke he suffered about six months ago.

 

Mr. Polzin was born in Watertown on Jan. 11, 1866, and was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Polzin. Mr. Polzin's wife died 11 years ago (Polzin, Helena Seefeldt, b. 1865, d. 1931).

 

He is survived by two daughters and two sons, Alex Polzin, Watertown; E. H. Polzin, West Allis; Mrs. William Patterson, Watertown, and Mrs. H. F. Holmes, Madison.

 

Two sons preceded their father in death.

 

Also surviving are four sisters and one brother, Mrs. Edward Gottschalk, Mrs. William Manske, Mrs. Robert Kerstell and Miss Ida Polzin, all of Watertown, and Otto Polzin, Loma Linda, Calif.

 

The funeral will be held Friday afternoon from the Nowack funeral home where services will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. I. G. Uetzmann of St. Luke's Lutheran church will officiate.

 

Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.
