William F Nickels

1863 - 1949

The funeral of William F. Nickels, who died Wednesday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Uttech, 223 N Water Street, will be held Saturday from the Nowack Funeral Home and at 2 o’clock at St. John’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. E F Quandt officiating.

 

Mr. Nickels was born September 28, 1863, in the town of Lowell, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Nickels.  On April 17, 1884, he married Wilhelmina Rusch, who preceded him in death in 1902.  On July 22, 1905, he married Anna Norbert Schemmel.  She preceded him in death in 1931.

 

For many years Mr. Nickels was employed at the Watertown Grain Company.

 

He is survived by one son, Herbert, of this city, two daughters, Mrs. Frank Uttech, this city and Mrs. Reinhold Schumacher, Janesville.  A half-sister, Mrs. F C Haney, also survives.

 

He was a life-long member of St. John’s and for many years a member of the school board of the church.

 

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
