Dorothy E. Mabie

1911- 2005

 

Dorothy E. Mabie, 94, of Watertown, died Thursday evening, March 10, 2005 at Marquardt Memorial Manor in Watertown.

 

Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown with the Rev. Michael J. Quishenberry officiating.  Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown.

 

She was born Jan. 17, 1911, in Nekoosa, daughter of Bert A. and Gertrude (Wilson) Cramer. She married Donovan I. Mabie Sr. on April 24, 1930, in Milwaukee. She attended high school at Bethel Academy. She had been a caretaker and later a curator of the Octagon House in Watertown.  She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Watertown. She was a longtime member of the Euterpe Club, serving several terms as president and a member of the Watertown Historical Society.

 

Survivors include one son, Donovan L. (Beverly) Mabie Jr. of Watertown; one daughter, Kathleen (William) Glennie of California; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donovan I. Mabie Sr. on Dec. 22, 2000; a grandson, James Donovan Glennie; and a brother, Frederick A. Cramer.
