A military funeral
service will be held on Friday at
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Watertown.
Memorials may be directed to the ROTC Scholarship Fund which will be established in Nick's name.
The Hafemeister Funeral Home of Watertown is in charge of arrangements.
Nicholas was born
He was currently enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he was majoring in speech and leadership. He had been elected to the executive board for the next academic year and was to serve as the university services director of the Whitewater student government. Nick was also in the ROTC at the university, along with being a sergeant in Battery C, First Battalion, 121 Field Artillery Unit located in Sussex. He had joined the National Guard in May 2001 after serving a 15-month tour in Iraq.
Nick had been employed at Bruno Independent Living Aides in Oconomowoc. His hobbies included running, bowling, riding his motorcycle, camping, dancing and making people laugh.
Surviving are his mother, Heidi (Larry) Lindsey of Watertown; his father, Gregory (Sherry) Lehman of Elkhorn; his maternal grandmother, Loretta Pehlke of Hartford; and his paternal grandfather, Jack Lehman of East Troy; two sisters, Danielle Lehman of Watertown and Megan Lindsey of Oshkosh; four brothers, James Lehman, Brian Lehman, Cody Lehman and Nathan Lehman, all of Elkhorn; a niece, Devan Fredrick of Watertown; a nephew, Cody Fredrick of Watertown; his girlfriend, Nicole Carter of Elkhorn; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Stanley Dobrzynski; and his paternal grandmother, Sylvia Lehman.
