Rosie M. Joyce, 73, of Watertown, passed away peacefully at her home Monday, June 2, 2008.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 7 p.m. at the Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown with the Rev. Lee Meissner of Christ United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be Saturday morning at 9 o'clock in Oak Hill Cemetery, Watertown.
Relatives and friends may call to pay their respects at the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 4 o'clock until the time of the service.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or to the charity of one's choice.
Rose Marie Nienow was born on Aug. 5, 1934, in Watertown, daughter of Robert and Lillian (Meyer) Nienow. On Aug. 12, 1955, she married Thurman Joyce at Wesley Methodist Church in Watertown. He preceded her in death on Nov. 29, 1979.
Rosie was a graduate of Watertown High School. She had been employed as a CNA at Marquardt Memorial Manor in Watertown and was a custodian at Riverside Middle School in Watertown for over 20 years. Rosie had also been employed at Kwik Trip on Church Street in Watertown, where she was known as the “Coffee Lady.”
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Watertown and AARP, and enjoyed playing the Wisconsin Lottery and trips to Ho-Chunk.
Rosie enjoyed spending time with her family and her friends at Hardee's.
Survivors include her four daughters, Ginger (Jeff) Joyce of Coronado, Calif., Maggie (Don) Bania of Corcoran, Minn., Vicki (John) Kamuchey of Concord and Tami (Greg) Joyce of Watertown; five grandchildren, Everett (Bobby) Kamuchey, Joshua (Alisha) Kamuchey, Christopher (Jenna) Kamuchey, Santana Pirkel and Taylor Aebly; a brother, Earl (Janice) Nienow of Watertown; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Rosie was further preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Harriet Luck.
