Elizabeth Lydia Hempel, 88, of Watertown, passed away Monday afternoon,
The former Elizabeth
Lydia Kleemann was born on
Elizabeth attended
St. Mark's Lutheran Grade School in Watertown and was a 1937 graduate of
Watertown High School. She was then employed at the Watertown Telephone Co.
until her marriage. Elizabeth was a member of Trinity
Lutheran Church in Watertown where she had been a Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include
three children, Dawn (Charles) Fiedler of Richardson, Texas, Philip (Cheryl) Hempel of St. Clair, Mich., and Mary Sue (Tom) Nouy of Tempe, Ariz.; six grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth was the
last member of her immediate family. She was further preceded in death by her
parents; two sisters, Lillian Kleemann and Hildegard Reuschel; and a brother, Chester Kleemann.
A graveside service
will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery,
Watertown, with the Rev. Brett Brauer of Trinity
Lutheran Church officiating.
The Hafemeister Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
