Gene & Susan Tesch

310 South Washington Street

The two-story gable Tesch home was built in the early 1900s.  The first floor included the entry way, living room, dining room and remodeled kitchen which features a plate rack displaying Nabisco memorabilia.  Gene worked for Nabisco for 26 years and has acquired many unique items.

An open staircase leads to the three bedrooms and bath on the second floor.  The old, "one" room cement basement has been remodeled into a family room and craft area.  The leaded windows remain a focal point in many of the rooms.  An early 1900s Secretary and music chair adds to the character of the house.  The large front porch becomes a special family gathering place during the summer as it features removable screens.

Traditional holiday decorations are displayed throughout the house.  The Nativity pieces and Christmas house were painted and constructed by the 3 Tesch children over 20 years ago.
