2001

07 12       Groundbreaking ceremonies for an Early Childhood Center were held on Sunday at Faith Lutheran Church and School.  The new building addition includes two additional classrooms, two bathrooms and a kitchenette.  The addition will provide needed space for the growing worship services, Christian day school, preschool and daycare.  Tim Laughlin, Faith Lutheran member, chairs the building committee and is acting as general contractor for the project.  Jeff Kossman of JK Architecture and Engineering of Watertown is the architect and planner of the project.  Faith Lutheran Church was organized in 1986.  Initially the church rented space and started a kindergarten through third grade Christian day school.  The existing structure was erected in 1988.  At that time, a day-care was started and grew to 80 students the first year.  In 1991, a fourth grade was added. Each year after that another grade was added until reaching a full eight grades in 1995.  The day school still has a limited number of spaces available for fall classes.
