Leo Ruesch purchased from Ulrich Habhegger the three-story building at 210 West Main, previously occupied by Colligan & Ryan’s saloon, and moved his shoe store thereto.  Grand opening on 10 09 1895.  Consideration, $2,625.  [Watertown News, 08 21 1895]

04 23       Frank Bartz and Alfred Kuenzi opened a new meat market under the firm name of Bartz & Kuenzi in the Ruesch building at 201 North Water Street, on Wednesday morning.  Both are well posted in this line of business and intend to conduct a first-class meat market.  They solicit a share of the patronage of our people.  The Gazette wishes the new firm success.  Mr. Bartz is the old reliable meat market man who for 20 many years held a position in the meat market at 208 West Main Street.   WG

12 16       One of Watertown's oldest business establishments, a store that is now in its fourth generation and about to enter its 110th year, will open in a new location at 6 o'clock tonight.  It is Ruesch's Fine Footwear which has located at 305 Main Street, from its former location at 210 West Main Street where it was operated since 1895.  John (Jack) Ruesch, who is now in charge of the store and who represents the fourth generation in the Ruesch family to operate a shoe business in Watertown, announced on Saturday that the new location would be ready for opening tonight. Moving operations were completed over the weekend.
